On Sept 14, the China Center for Food and Drug International Exchange of the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) organized the 2024 Second Workshop for the Pharmaceutical Industry to discuss in-depth topics such as the adaptation of drug package insert for the elderly and the disabled groups, the transfer of imported originator drugs to domestic production, and the segmented cross-border production of biological products. Huang Guo, Deputy Commissioner of NMPA, attended the workshop and delivered a speech.

　　The workshop emphasized the need to thoroughly implement the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, coordinate to advance the reform of drug regulation, and strive for the benign interaction of high-quality development and high-level safety. Efforts should be made to create a globally competitive environment for innovation and accelerate the approval process for innovative drugs. It is necessary to expand high-level opening and encourage the advanced experience, cutting-edge technology and innovative products for the benefit of patients.

　　Representatives from relevant organizations and affiliated institutions of the NMPA, some provincial regulatory authorities, industrial associations, and pharmaceutical enterprises attended the workshop.
